Coverage Details

You need insurance!

The Performers and teachers insurance program available to members of Circus Artists of Canada, includes special liability coverage for: Fire prop manipulators, fire dancers and jugglers and includes fire breathing. It also includes; aerial performers, hoop dancers, flow artists, stilt-walkers, acrobats, magicians, santa, face-painting, party entertainers, characters, and all other entertainment.  The Circus Artists of Canada performers insurance coverage always includes teaching including teaching Yoga in Canada.

Coverage will protect against bodily injury and property damage caused to third parties, i.e., venue or spectators who are present during an act or class. Coverage may not extend however to insure a participant that may be called upon to be a part of the act as audience participation.

How much will it cost?

Low Risk Tier: ex: flow arts, stilt-walker, dancer, ground acrobat, unicycle, etc.

1 Million $150 /year

2 Million $250/year

5 million $500/year

High Risk Tier: aerialists, fire performers/breathers, knife throwers

1 Million $300/year

2 Million $450/year

5 Million $750/year

Additional fees: A standard $50 policy fee and 8% provincial tax will be applied to all tiers. Claims are subject to a standard $1000 deductible. Payment must be received in full, and monthly payment plans or credit card payment is currently not an option.


How do I obtain my policy?

 The first step is to become a member of Circus Artists of Canada. Membership dues are $25 CAD per anum. Payment can be sent via email money transfer from a Canadian bank or credit union. Once your membership fee is accepted, you will receive a certificate of membership and membership number for Circus Artists of Canada ( O/O 9522565 Canada Association ) for the current year, along with the Comprehensive General Liability Application form (CGL) for you to complete. $25 membership fee must be renewed yearly

The next step is to submit your completed and signed CGL. You will be dealing with the friendly folk of IBMG Canada who are the Brokers of Record for this program. Once IBMG receives your completed and signed application you will be sent an invoice for the level you have selected. Your coverage is effective upon receipt of premium via email transfer or cheque.


How long will my coverage last?

Your coverage will start the day you purchase your policy and last one year from that date. Unfortunately single day coverage  option is no longer available.  


American Travel This plan covers performing within Canada only, however American travel riders can be purchased as an addition to your policy. Coverage cannot be extended worldwide. Teaching in the USA is also covered.  


Yoga Teachers  If you are yoga teacher this plan will cover you for teaching yoga as well as your performances.


How do I obtain a certificate request?

Some venues will request a certificate of additional insured. You will need to send us the venue or company name, the performance date or dates, and the complete venue address including postal code. You can expect your certificate within one business day.
